2026 Easter Season - "Greater Love For You"
Date Published

Theme “Greater Love for You”
The theme for this Easter season celebration comes from John 15:12-13: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” As we think of the greater love of Jesus Christ, we are also encouraged to consider that His suffering was as infinite as His love. And both are for you.
Easter Season
Easter is one of the most natural ways to love, share, and invite all to learn about Jesus Christ. We hope to do this across a full Easter season, and not just on one day. The global Church will be focusing on the Easter season beginning on February 22 with the launch of Easter videos. The seasonal celebrations will peak with celebrations of the Holy Week extending from Palm Sunday on March 29 through Easter Sunday on April 5.
Palm Sunday, March 29, will be the main opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to worship with us in our local congregations. As shared with priesthood leaders on 22 January, March 29 will be a special one-hour worship service, focused on the Atonement and Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
During the Holy Week of March 29 – April 5 there will be a special study experience that will focus on the Savior’s teachings during the last week of his mortal ministry. This will be highlighted in Gospel Library and linked in Come, Follow Me. This will be a good way to reach out to Church members and other Christian friends to demonstrate our shared faith in Jesus Christ.
On April 4 and Easter Sunday, April 5, we will participate in the global general conference. This is the largest faith-based gathering of its kind in the world. This will be an opportunity to link the Savior’s mortal ministry with his living prophets on the earth today. During the general conference weekend there will be a solemn assembly to sustain a new First Presidency. President Oaks will also deliver his first conference talk as the Prophet and President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
